BioWell, I'm your average geeky girl. I have an unhealthy obsession with Disney (Hunchback of Notre Dame in particular), Star Wars, and Broadway musicals; I love learning new languages like Mandarin, Spanish (which I speak *almost* fluently ^^), and Russian; and I play World of Warcraft.
Just a quick background on my name: Jiaren literally means "auspicious/beautiful person" in Chinese, and then the "_shadow" bit I just added for effect. So I'm a beautiful shadow, I guess. Not really, though.
If you're curious (and I'm sure you are), here are some fun facts about me:
--I stand at 4 feet 11 inches.
--I am a baritone in a female barbershop quartet, bass in 2 female a cappella groups, and an alto in a choir.
--My favorite musicals are Les Miserables (One Day More is my FAVORITE song of all time), Sweeney Todd, Into the Woods, most Disney movie musicals, Chicago, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and Avenue Q.
--I am a dyed-in-the-wool Democrat but I am open-minded and always up for debate (and no matter what I'm ALWAYS up for making John McCain/Sarah Palin jokes!)
--I hold a black belt in Tae Kwon Do. And yes, TKD is pretty useless, but hey.
--I am sort of guy-crazy and my list of guys I think are hot fluctuates a lot. My mainstays: Ewan McGregor, James McAvoy, Masi Oka, Daniel Craig, James Shigeta in his younger days, Dweezil Zappa, Michael Ball (I LURVE Marius).
--I am kind of in between religions right now: I'm sort of Atheo-Jewdhist (Atheist/Jewish/Buddhist) if that's comprehensible.
--I love fan fiction but I don't write a whole lot because I have absolutely no time.
